Ever since I first saw a map of local field names, I’ve been hooked on finding their origins. Nine acres may be obvious, but Gilseys? What does that mean?

Follow me as I locate the fields and dig through the Archives to see if I can find the answers to:
was Thorns really covered in thorns?
who was the Honorable Thomas Brand?
and was there really a dead woman in Dead Woman’s Acre??
