These two photographs were taken in 1959 from Barleymans – (top) looking across to Martenholme Pond and (bottom) looking towards Wire farm (that’s a Premier double decker in the distance!)

Barleymans 1960s and 1970s
The two photos below appear to have been taken around the same time. The b&w one below is taken from a postcard which was posted in 1973. The roof has been re-thatched. The single storey extension did not exist in the early 1960s – see the photo above – and the timber shed has since been relocated…
