Rose Cottage, Crawley End.  This cottage is still connected to Ramblers next door as the original two cottages and Rose Cottage retains its south facing front door.  In the photograph above you can see both Ramblers and Rose Cottage.  Fred Davies who has lived in Ramblers for many years and did extensive renovation on the cottage when he moved in, believes that Rose Cottage may be the older of the two cottages and Ramblers was built slightly later.

In the old photograph above you can also see the “Bike Shop” that was at the front of Rose Cottage.

A more modern photo (pre 1989) of Rose Cottage undergoing renovation.  In the picture on the right you can see the cottage, probably in the 1970s with a flat roof over a small extension housing the kitchen.

    HI Rosemarie,

Charles and Annie (Banks) Cranwell lived in Rose Cottage, Annie died in 1963 . I assume this is the only cottage known as Rose Cottage.

Yes that’s right Angela – Charles and Annie were my great-grandparents and as far as I know this is the only Rose Cottage in the village.
