A clear picture of Chrishall old school on this postcard, interestingly titled as ‘The Schools’. This was presumably because there were two classes held in the school at the time. The school mistress or master would have lived in the school house to the right of the picture and this was the case from the start of the school in 1862 right up until the 1960s. All the windows appear to be open so perhaps a nice warm spring or summer’s day when this photograph was taken. Notice the two little skylights, I think, on the roof.
